Does Acupuncture work? Yes
Acupuncture and oriental Medicine have been used throughout history by more people
than all other health modalities combined. In fact, it has been the main form of health
care for most of the world for thousands of years.
Does Acupuncture provide more than just temporary results? Yes
The results of acupuncture are long lasting due to the fact that it addresses the
underlying cause of the disease, not just the symptoms.
Can I feel the needles?
Acupuncture needles are as thin as a hair and are inserted
very quickly to avoid the sensation of pain.
Are the needles disposable? Yes
All needles are single use, which means they are
disposed of as medical waste after each use.
How many treatments will I need?
Usually one or two treatments per week are recommended. However, the number of
treatments needed varies widely according to condition. Generally the more chronic the
illness the more treatments are needed, and may require several weeks or longer.
Acute problems respond much faster. Of course occasional treatments throughout the
year may help to prevent problems from becoming chronic or severe.
Is Acupuncture covered by insurance?
More and more health insurance companies are covering acupuncture due to public
demand. In Washington State it is a law that the insurance company has to include
acupuncture as long as it is provided by a licensed acupuncturist. Personal injury
cases are almost always covered.
