Stopped smoking
I first went to see Patty in April 2008 to help me quit smoking. I had tried other methods of quitting that didn't work of
course. Then I went to Patty and the day of my first treatment was the last day I smoked a cigarette. I had smoked for
almost 20 years. All it took was 5 treatments over a 2 week period. I now have been free from cigarettes for over 2
years and I owe so much to Patty. The only regret I have is that I didn't write my testimonial sooner! Thank you so
much Patty!

Relief from chronic back pain
In 2002 I made an appointment with Patty Kuchar to see if acupuncture could relieve a chronic back pain. After nine
months of treatments the back pain is less severe and I’ve reduced the amount of pain medicine I take each day.
The past two months she has also treated me for bronchial and serious asthma condition that I’ve had for years. I’m
happy to report I’ve seen dramatic improvement in my breathing. This is the first spring in many years that I haven’t
been congested in my sinuses and my lungs. On May 20, 2003 I had my annual physical and the doctor could not
detect any congestion. He said, “Your lungs are clear!”
I am still taking my prescription medication but at a reduced amount. I feel the significant changes have been
brought about by my monthly treatments from Patty. I’d highly recommend giving Patty a call and schedule an
appointment and consultation.

I started going to Acupuncture NW and being treated by Patty Kuchar L.Ac., in July of this year. I saw her ad in the
paper several months ago but it took me quite awhile to make up my mind to make an appointment. But, I finally did.
In January of 2004, I was severely burnt in a house fire. I was burnt over 55% of my body. I spent 6 months in the
hospital, three months of which was in a drug induced coma. The doctors and medical staff told me that at one point
they considered amputating my legs. Just below the knees. That’s how much they were damaged. They did amputate
my little toe on my right foot. When it was time to leave the hospital they said I would have to use canes to walk. I
ended up using them for a couple of months only. Since I left the hospital I’ve had three surgeries on my left foot. The
pain and swelling in my legs and especially my feet has been unbearable at times, and yes there has been several
times over the last 5 years that I wished they had amputated my left leg. Needless to say I was living on pain pills. I
was told by the doctors that I would have to wear pressure socks to help prevent the swelling and help with circulation
in my feet and legs the rest of my life.
During this time I also developed Stage III kidney disease. My kidneys were only functioning at 33%. My primary
care doctor thinks this was caused by all the heavy drugs I was on in the hospital and the strong pain meds I was
using. I discussed all this with Patty and she said that a combination of acupuncture and some Chinese herbs could
help me. So I started on the treatments that she suggested. I’ve had 15 treatments so far. Let me tell you, it has
helped considerably. The pain has subsided enough that I don’t take the harsh narcotics for the pain. The herbs have
helped the swelling enough that I don’t wear the pressure socks all the time. And my kidney function has improved to
41%...not a lot…but an improvement. My PCP told me to continue doing what I’m doing because it’s working. In fact,
she said that she wouldn’t need to see me every 3 months. Instead, she would see me in a year unless I have
problems.
I still have a long way to go. I still get some pain and some swelling, but hopefully, over time this will improve. If you
have any doubts about acupuncture, don’t. It does, really work. I know everyone is different. But, if you want to get rid
of the pain, I truly suggest that you give acupuncture a try. It works. IT WORKS!
I’m really glad that I made that call to Acupuncture N.W. and started with the treatments. Thank you very much Patty.

Pain relief from burns and increased kidney function
Pain relief from back surgery
After reading an ad in our local paper about relief of pain with acupuncture, I decided to try it. I asked my
Doctor if he thought it might help me and he said “why not give it a try.” I’ve had 4 surgeries on my spine and the
neurosurgeon said there was not any more he could help me with as the spinal problem was not going to go
away. I was on heavy medication and taking stronger doses. I was never without pain. I made an appointment
at Acupuncture Northwest with Patty Kuchar, L.Ac. Patty said she was sure she could help me. After receiving 3
treatments I realized I had found someone and something that was now going to help me. After 11 treatments I
have been able to cut way back on my medication and do some of my yard work. I am free of almost all the pain
and feel more relaxed, enjoying my life again without worry of pain stopping me; which is what I had been living
with for many years.
I’ll be forever thankful I found the ad and made that very important appointment. I found many other folks feel
the same way I do about Patty and Acupuncture Northwest here in Longview, WA. If you need help, it is here for
you, just try it; give it a real good chance. I am very happy I did my 11 treatments and will continue for my own
well being. THANKS PATTY!!!
